Aaron Copeland Partnership Award

Partnership Award

Aaron Copeland was a veteran who was treated for several years at the Veteran

Administration Medical Center at East Orange. He was wheelchair bound and

had a wonderful baritone voice. As part of his treatment, he received music

therapy here. He died in 1998.

Aaron was an out-spoken advocate for music therapy, and it is in his memory

that NJAMT created the Aaron Copeland Partnership Award to be given to

someone outside the field of music therapy who has exhibited a commitment

to the field and has supported it in some tangible way.
